2008 Titleholder's Dinner Keynote Speaker - Larry Townsend

We are pleased to announce Larry Townsend, “one of the most honored and respected gay writers in the United States and beyond!” as the keynote speaker for the 2008 San Diego Leather Pride Titleholder Dinner. The evening will take place at 7PM on Thursday, March 13 at the Park Manor Suites located at 525 Spruce St. The tickets are NOT part of the V.I.P. Package and must be purchased separately for $25 online or at events. TICKETS ARE LIMITED!

Larry Townsend is best known as author of the Leatherman’s Handbooks. Larry has written over forty other books (novels and anthologies.) Although most of Larry’s books were leather/SM themed, he also wrote a number of science fiction stories and historical pieces—the most notable of which is the hard cover CZAR!, his novel based on the life of Ivan, the Terrible. Personal circumstances interrupted this prolific writer’s output for most of 2006 but now there is a new science fiction novel in the works, titled TimeMasters, soon to be offered on his website, www.LTPublications.com with the sequel in the works.

Aside from his work as a writer, Larry was a well-known activist in the gay movement during the seventies and early eighties. As his publishing activities became more time-consuming, Larry was forced to withdraw from his most demanding liberation activities, but by that time many new faces were emerging to replace the original leaders.
